Recognition is one of the most powerful ways to inspire continued service. That’s why we’re excited to announce a new enhancement to the National Service Honor award package: Bronze, Silver, and Gold Recognition Pins. These pins will now correspond directly to each recipient’s award level and will be included alongside the official NSH certificate and recognition letter.
Honoring Achievement at Every Level
Volunteers dedicate countless hours to strengthening their communities, and every hour matters. The National Service Honor recognizes service across three achievement levels, Bronze, Silver, and Gold, based on verified volunteer hours completed within a 12-month period.
With the introduction of matching recognition pins, recipients will now receive a visible symbol of their accomplishment that reflects the level they have earned.
- Bronze Pin – Celebrating a strong commitment to service
- Silver Pin – Recognizing significant volunteer impact
- Gold Pin – Honoring exceptional dedication to serving others
Each pin is designed to serve as a lasting reminder of the difference volunteers make in their communities.

More Than a Certificate
Every National Service Honor award package already includes an official certificate and recognition letter. Now, the addition of tiered recognition pins creates an even more meaningful experience for recipients. Whether displayed on a backpack, worn on a lapel, or saved as a keepsake, these pins provide volunteers with a tangible symbol of their service journey.
Recognition matters because it does more than celebrate past accomplishments—it encourages future service. When volunteers feel valued, they are more likely to continue making an impact and inspire others to get involved.
Continuing a Tradition of Meaningful Recognition
The National Service Honor was created to provide schools, nonprofits, and community organizations with a trusted way to recognize volunteer achievement. Modeled after the standards previously used by the Presidential Volunteer Service Award, the program continues the tradition of celebrating service while creating new opportunities to honor volunteers nationwide.
The new Bronze, Silver, and Gold pins represent another step forward in that mission. By pairing each award level with its own unique pin, volunteers receive recognition that feels personal, meaningful, and worthy of the impact they’ve made.
Celebrate Service. Inspire More.
Every volunteer story deserves recognition. Whether someone is just beginning their service journey or has dedicated hundreds of hours to helping others, the National Service Honor is proud to celebrate their commitment.
With the launch of our new Bronze, Silver, and Gold Recognition Pins, honoring volunteers has never been more meaningful.
Because service deserves to be seen, celebrated, and remembered. ✨
